There are many different ways of, laughing:
two common forms are the snigger and
the guffaw. The snigger shows exaggerated
nose-wrinkling and eye-creasing but no headtilting,
while the guffaw involves a marked
throwing back of the head but less nosewrinkling.
And ……, therefore it is
sometimes difficult to distinguish between
crying and laughing.

Very often the type of laughter
used says more about someone's
personality than their sense of
humour

The guffaw expresses instant
amusement, whereas the snigger
implies humour that is disrespectful

At very high intensity laughter
includes the element of weeping

Some laughter involves a lot of
vocal activity, the sounds of which
vary widely

And we don't only laugh because of
jokes, sometimes it's through
nerves or embarrassment
